Learning Continuity & Attendance Plan

Learning Continuity & Attendance Plan

With Senate Bill 98, approved by Governor Newsom on June 29, 2020, districts and county offices of education were required to create a Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan. This plan is separate from the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).

The Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan explains how Stockton Unified School District provided continuity of learning and addressed the impact of COVID-19 on students, staff, and families.

Plan Focus Areas

  • Engagement and outreach
  • In-person instruction
  • Distance learning
  • Addressing learning challenges
  • Mental health and social-emotional support
  • Resources for staff and students related to trauma and COVID-19 impacts
  • School nutrition
  • Increased and improved services for foster youth, English learners, and low-income students

Community Feedback

Engagement opportunities included students, staff, and families through phone polls, collaborative meetings and forums, social media and school outreach, and surveys.

Feedback was also gathered from the Community Advisory Committee, Parent Advisory Committee, and District English Learner Advisory Committee.

The public hearing for the Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan was held on September 15, 2020, at the SUSD Board meeting. The adoption hearing was held on September 22, 2020, at the SUSD Board meeting.

Stockton Unified recognizes that the impacts of COVID-19 continued to shift operational services and instructional planning. The District remained committed to ongoing stakeholder engagement and adapting services to meet the needs shared by students, families, staff, and the community.
