CalPERS 2027 Medical Open Enrollment for Retirees

The 2027 CalPERS Medical Annual Open Enrollment for Retirees will begin on September 14, 2026 through October 9, 2026. Retirees will go through CalPERS to make medical plan changes during the open enrollment period.

Medical plan or coverage changes made through CalPERS during the annual open enrollment period became effective on January 1, 2027 for the 2027 benefit plan year.

The District’s early retiree medical reimbursement amount changes (for eligible retirees) for the 2027 plan year, will begin on the December 30, 2026 pay warrant.

Medicare Supplemental Plans & Retiree Coverage

CalPERS Medicare Supplemental Plans

Retirees age 65 or older who are enrolled in Medicare Part B may be eligible for CalPERS supplemental health plans.

COBRA Dental, Vision & Chiropractic Coverage

Employees age 65 or older at retirement may elect to continue District dental, vision, and/or chiropractic coverage through COBRA for up to 18 months.
