California State Preschool Program
Program Goals
- Provide a program where children develop intellectually, socially, physically, and emotionally while gaining independence, self-control, and respect for others.
- Enhance children's self-esteem through successful learning experiences.
- Provide a curriculum aligned with the California Preschool Learning Foundations through developmentally appropriate materials, learning activities, time, and space.
- Encourage parent participation through classroom volunteering, parent education meetings, and the Parent Advisory Committee.
Before Proceeding to Online Registration
Please have the following documents ready to upload:
Cartilla de vacunación y examen de TB del niño
Certificado de nacimiento para la inscripción del niño

Examen físico o fecha de cita
Prueba de residencia en California
Prueba de ingresos de un mes
Employment (Empleo)
- Pay stubs: 1 (monthly), 2 (bi-weekly), or 4 (weekly)
- Talones de pago: 1 (mensual), 2 (quincenal), o 4 (semanal)
- Self-employed: Previous year's tax return or 1099
- Trabajo por cuenta propia: Declaración de impuestos del año pasado o 1099
Non-Employment (No Empleo)
- Proof of government assistance (Cash-Aid, CalFresh, WIC, SSI, Medi-Cal, etc.)
- Comprobante de asistencia del gobierno (Cash-Aid, CalFresh, WIC, SSI, Medi-Cal, etc.)
Eligibility
Eligibility is determined according to California Department of Education, Child Development Division regulations.
- First Priority: Children ages 3 and 4 receiving child protective services, or at risk of abuse or neglect, with a written referral from a legal, medical, or social services agency.
- Second Priority: Children ages 3 and 4 with exceptional needs from income-eligible families.
- Third Priority: Eligible 4-year-old children not enrolled in a state-funded transitional kindergarten program:
- Children previously enrolled in CSPP at age 3
- Children with the lowest income, based on Schedule of Income Ceilings
- Fourth Priority: Eligible 3-year-old children, enrolled by lowest income.
- Fifth Priority: Children from families with income up to 15% above eligibility thresholds, after all eligible children are enrolled.
- School Boundary Provision: CSPP sites located within qualified free/reduced-meal school boundaries may enroll any resident 3- and 4-year-olds, prioritized by lowest income.
