Admissions, Child Welfare & Attendance Department: Supporting Our Students and Staff
At Stockton Unified School District, the well-being and safety of our students and staff are top priorities. In partnership with the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), the Admissions, Child Welfare & Attendance Department provides specialized training in non-violent crisis intervention and safe, supportive practices.
These evidence-based trainings equip educators, administrators, and support staff with practical tools to respond to challenging situations with care, professionalism, and respect.
CPI training focuses on:
- Verbal and non-verbal de-escalation strategies: Prevent and defuse conflict through effective communication and calming techniques.
- Positive behavioral support: Promote a respectful and supportive learning environment.
- Risk behavior management: Respond safely to potentially harmful behaviors while maintaining dignity and safety.
- Post-crisis support: Rebuild trust and foster recovery after challenging incidents.
Through CPI’s proactive approach, Stockton Unified School District continues to strengthen a safe, supportive educational community where students and staff feel valued.
