At Stockton Unified School District, the well-being and safety of our students and staff are top priorities. In partnership with the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), our Admissions, and Child Welfare and Attendance Department is proud to offer specialized trainings in non-violent crisis intervention strategies and safe supports. These evidenced-based practices are designed to equip educators, administrators, and support staff with the tools to handling challenging situations with care and professionalism.

CPI provides comprehensive training focused on:

• Verbal and Non-verbal De-escalation Strategies: Prevent and defuse conflict through effective communication and calming techniques.
• Positive Behavioral Support: Promote a supportive and respectful environment for all students.
• Risk Behavior Management: Respond safely to potentially harmful behaviors while maintaining the dignity and safety of everyone involved.
• Post-Crisis Support: Rebuild trust and foster recovery after challenging incidents for students and staff.
