Risk Management & Insurance Department.: Supporting Our Students and Staff

At Stockton Unified School District, the well-being and safety of our students and staff are top priorities. In partnership with the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), our Risk Management & Insurance Department is proud to offer specialized trainings in non-violent crisis intervention strategies and safe supports. These evidenced-based practices are designed to equip educators, administrators, and support staff with the tools to handling challenging situations with care and professionalism.

CPI provides comprehensive training focused on:

  • Verbal and Non-verbal De-escalation Strategies: Prevent and defuse conflict through effective communication and calming techniques.
  • Positive Behavioral Support: Promote a supportive and respectful environment for all students.
  • Risk Behavior Management: Respond safely to potentially harmful behaviors while maintaining the dignity and safety of everyone involved.
  • Post-Crisis Support: Rebuild trust and foster recovery after challenging incidents for students and staff.

Through CPI’s proactive trainings, Stockton Unified School District is building a stronger, safer educational community where every student and staff member feels supported and valued. For more information on our trainings and resources, contact our department at (209) 933-7110 ext. 2559.
