School Counselor Intern Program

The goal of the Stockton Unified School Counselor Intern Program is to successfully support gradaute students as they work towards their Masters degree and Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Counseling. Interns will learn the skills they will need to master the many roles and responsibilities performed by a school counselorserving their the education community. All SC interns will be supervised at a school site by a Pupil Personnel Services credentialed School Counselor.

 

Please see the resources below to learn how apply to earn PPSC fieldwork, practicum, intern, and observation hours with our district.

All potential interns (including those completing observation hours) must be cleared through our districts volunteer process. Once you are cleared, please reach out to Tami Gray, School Counselor Program Specialist, so placement can be confirmed for you. (please do not reach out to the sites on your own)

  1. Complete the SUSD Intern Interest Form
  2. Keenan Mandated Reporter training
  3. Fingerprint clearance
    1. Visit the SUSD Be A Mentor
    2. select "Apply - School Volunteer," select "Student Teacher" then "browse by sites" and select "Student Teacher" again (see blue box in picture below)
    3. All applicants are to bring the following to fingerprint: 

      1. A printed and completed livescan form 

      2. A printed mandated reporter certificate 

      3. TB test results 

      4. A valid govt. ID
