The mission of the Special Education Department is to provide every student with individualized high-quality instruction and well-rounded educational experience while promoting success and developing personal independence through leadership, advocacy, technical assistance, and collaboration among all stakeholders.

All SUSD students with disabilities will continue to receive high-quality instruction, programs, and services with an emphasis on inclusionary practices and afforded opportunities.

• We will continue implementing evidence-based and classroom-based practices to improve positive and safe learning environments.
• We will continue following and supporting the district's initiative with the implementation of the ELA and Math curriculum.
