We wanted to share with you a recent report of student progress at SUSD. Graduation rates are the highest they have been in SUSD history, chronic absenteeism is down, and there is great progress in closing equity gaps.
SUSD’s graduation rate is highest in SUSD’s history, surging to 85%
This success includes impressive subgroup gains, such as Hispanic students (85.4%, up 3%) and foster youth (71.4%, up 12.9%), as well as demonstrating strides in closing equity gaps.
Stockton, CA — The 2024 California Schools Dashboard showcases Stockton Unified School District’s progress in key areas while providing a clear path forward for continued growth. Reflecting the district’s resilience and commitment to student success, these results inspire confidence that SUSD is moving in the right direction.

While the district celebrates its progress, it remains clear-eyed about challenges. Academic performance in English Language Arts and Mathematics remains a priority.
Gains among long-term English learners in Mathematics ( 7.4 points) and College/Career readiness ( 2%) reflect the district’s efforts to support historically underserved students. Graduation rate increases for students with disabilities ( 6.2%) and African American students ( 2.7%) further highlight the district’s focus on inclusive excellence.
