Record-Breaking Graduation Rates: SUSD Hits an All-Time High of 85%
This milestone is especially significant for our student subgroups, with Hispanic students seeing an impressive increase of 3% (now at 85.4%) and foster youth showing remarkable growth of nearly 13% (now at 71.4%). It’s proof that we are on the right track when it comes to equity and inclusion.

- 85% Graduation Rate – A historic high for SUSD.

- Graduation Rate Hits a New High:
- SUSD’s graduation rate surged to 85%, a Green rating and a 2.9 percentage point increase.
- This success includes impressive subgroup gains, such as Hispanic students (85.4%, up 3%) and foster youth (71.4%, up 12.9%), demonstrating strides in closing equity gaps.
- Chronic Absenteeism Declines:
- Chronic absenteeism fell by 5%, signaling a return to stronger attendance habits. Foster youth (down 5.8%) and homeless students (down 10.9%) showed particularly strong improvements.
- College and Career Preparedness on the Rise:
- College and Career Indicator performance increased by 3.8 percentage points to 22.4%, with socioeconomically disadvantaged students (21.6%, up 4.4%) and Hispanic students (22.1%, up 5.1%) contributing significantly to the growth.
- Improvement in Targeted Areas:
- Mathematics performance saw gains in specific groups, including African American students ( 5.4 points) and students with disabilities ( 5.7 points), reflecting the positive impact of targeted interventions.

Graduation rate increases for students with disabilities ( 6.2%) and African American students ( 2.7%) further highlight the district’s focus on inclusive excellence.
