National Recognition

Stockton Unified School District proudly celebrates our Superintendent, Dr. Michelle Rodriguez, for being named a Superintendent of the Year Finalist and receiving the Power Leadership Award from the National Association of School Superintendents.

Dr. Rodriguez was honored for her transformative leadership and lifelong dedication to equity, innovation, and student success in both urban and rural communities.
These two prestigious awards recognize her 30+ years of service and her visionary leadership at Stockton Unified School District.
District Highlights Under Dr. Rodriguez's Leadership:
  • Highest graduation rates in SUSD history
  • Reduced chronic absenteeism
  • Increased student reading proficiency
  • Expanded access to AP, IB, and Career Technical Education courses
  • Created a Public Accountability Dashboard to track 44 community-prioritized goals

Dr. Rodriguez believes in putting students at the center of every decision, supporting the Whole Child, Whole Family, Whole Community.
