WORK PERMITS
- In order to get a Work Permit, Students need to do the following...
- Secure employment
- Fill out an Application Request Form B1-1
- Return it to the Student Store.
- In 24 to 48 hours, you will receive an email stating that your work permit is ready for pick-up, or that there is a problem.
- If your work permit has been granted,
- Return to the Student Store to sign for your work permit or receive the letter about the problem.
- Take your Work Permit to your employer.
- Applications are available in the following places...
- The Student Store
- Main Office

- Students must also meet the requirements for obtaining a Work Permit.
- GPA, attendance & discipline
- No more than 13 unexcused period absences or tardies in a grading period.
- No Ds or Fs on the last progress report or report card.
- For work hour restrictions by age, see page 2 of the B1-1 form
- All minors (students under 18) need a Work Permit, unless you have graduated.
- All work permits expire one week (5 days) after the following school year begins.
- Students can NOT work during school hours.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
- Work Permit Applications must be signed by the employer.
- A parent or guardian must also sign the application.
- The Student's social security number is required to process a work permit.
- Student ID will be verified through district records.
- The STUDENT must be the one to come and pick up the permit.
- The completed "Official" Work Permit is signed by the student and the Work Experience Coordinator.
- Each new job LOCATION requires a new work permit (Example: Even if you already work at the McDonald's on West Lane and have a work permit, you MUST get a new work permit to work at the McDonald's on ElDorado.)
- You cannot work during school hours.
- You cannot work on any school day that you are absent.
