  • What does an Internship Look like?

    • Unpaid Internships are typically 80 hours of experience in a position related to the CTE Pathway the student has completed.
    • Potential worksites collaborate with the Work-Based Learning Coordinator to develop a plan for skill development throughout the internship
    • Students are enrolled in the CTE Fieldwork course at their school site
      • Typically, this is the last class period of the regular school day from 1:55PM-3:30PM
      • Students would likely be able to report to worksites Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
      • Thursday's are typically collaboration days with a minimum day schedule (students released at 1:10 PM)
    • Community Classroom Agreement will need to be signed by the employer partner and ratified by SUSD Board of Trustees
    • Interns and their parents will sign the Internship Learning Plan agreement.
