Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
-
At Stockton Unified School District, we recognize that every child is unique. When we celebrate our differences, we create a community built on inclusivity, kindness, and respect; enhancing learning for everyone. SUSD is dedicated to uplifting historically marginalized individuals and communities by breaking down barriers and ensuring full, equitable access to opportunities and resources for all.
Diversity
-
At Stockton Unified School District, we value the richness that diversity brings to our community. We recognize and honor the unique identities, backgrounds, and experiences of every student, family, and staff member. By embracing diversity, we create an environment where all voices are heard, respected, and empowered—fostering a culture of mutual understanding and shared growth. Our commitment extends to addressing inequities and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Equity
-
Equity is the moral imperative to provide access and support for all marginalized persons to realize their personal best; liberating all through the eradication of- Ideological, Institutionalized, Interpersonal, and Internalized forms of oppression. Equity is the guarantee of fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all while striving to identify and eliminate barriers that have prevented the full participation of some groups. The principle of equity acknowledges that there are historically under-served and under-represented populations and that fairness regarding these unbalanced conditions is needed to assist equality in the provision of effective opportunities for all groups
Inclusion
-
At Stockton Unified School District, inclusion means authentically engaging traditionally excluded individuals and groups in processes, activities, and decision-making. We are committed to sharing power and ensuring that everyone has equal access to opportunities and resources, fostering a sense of belonging where all voices contribute to shaping our school community.

Parent Advisory Committees:
Parent Advisory Committees (PACs) at Stockton Unified School District are vital platforms for parents and guardians to actively engage in the educational process. PACs provide a structured space for families to collaborate with school leadership, share input on key decisions, and advocate for student success. These committees ensure that parent voices are heard and valued, fostering stronger partnerships between families and the district to enhance educational outcomes and support a positive school culture.
