    CalGrant can be used at any University of California, California State University or California Community College, as well as qualifying independent and career colleges or technical schools in California.  To qualify, you must apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or CA Dream Act Application (CADAA) by March 2 of senior year and meet the eligibility and financial requirements.     In order to claim your CalGrant and/or Chafee Grant, you must create a WebGrants 4 Students account. This will allow you to manage your Cal Grant and/or Chafee account(s) online by letting you view updates, make school changes, make address changes, make corrections, and post leave of absence requests. IMPORTANT: your WebGrants account does not replace your CADAA or FAFSA accounts. For more information, watch the WebGrants video ~ New Users

    The Chafee Grant is money you do not need to pay back. If you are or were in foster care for at least one day between the ages of 16 and 18 as a dependent or ward of the court and have financial needs, you may qualify for up to $5,000 per year for college, technical, vocational, or trade school.  You can use your Chafee Grant at any eligible school in California or in other states. You may also use your grant to help pay for childcare, transportation, and rent while you are going to school.

    The California Promise Grant is specifically for students attending California Community Colleges (CCC). For eligible California residents, the California College Promise Grant permits your enrollment fees (currently $46 per unit) to be waived. Nearly half of the 2.1 million students enrolled at CCC campuses receive free tuition through this program.  

    Stockton Scholars: open to ALL graduating seniors attending a public HS in the city of Stockton.Apply for the opportunity to claim a scholarship of up to $1000/ year for 4 years for attendance at an approved 4 year college or university OR $500/ year for 2 year college or trade school attendance. 

    Gates Millennium Scholars Program: The Gates Millennium Scholars Program provides an opportunity for thousands of outstanding Pell Grant-eligible students of color to reach their fullest potential.

    ICanAffordCollege.com: The “I Can Afford College” campaign is a statewide, financial aid awareness initiative sponsored by the California Community Colleges. The site will connect you with financial aid for community colleges in California.

    LULAC Stockton Council: Multiple scholarships (from $250-$2,000) will be awarded to qualified students who are enrolled or planning to enroll in accredited colleges, universities, or vocational schools in the US. 

    Central California Asian Pacific Women Scholarship: Financial assistance to Asian American, Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander women pursuing higher education.Application is open until April 30, 2025.

    The Jackie Robinson Foundation scholarship application is now available! The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides four-year scholarships of $30,000 and extensive support services, including career guidance and internship placement, to highly motivated African American students who have maintained a 98% college graduation rate. 

    Lincoln Center Scholarship Opportunity

    Pacific Gas and Electric Corporation Foundation awards multiple Scholarships to high school students. The eligibility Requirements for all scholarships are:

    • Be a high school senior or graduate, have received GED certification or be an undergraduate or postsecondary undergraduate student. Veterans and adults returning to school are encouraged to apply.
    • Have a primary residence that is a PG&E customer in California at the time of application.
    • Plan to enroll full time in an accredited college or university in the fall

    Find a union apprenticeship here! A union apprenticeship is an excellent career choice if you like to work with your hands and are willing to serve an apprenticeship for up to five years (depending on the selected trade).

    University of the Pacific Community Involvement Program: The Community Involvement Program (CIP) is a comprehensive, need-based scholarship program for first-generation college students from the Stockton community who have demonstrated the potential for sustainable leadership, community awareness, and involvement.
