Mr. Cristapher Torres

Mr. Cristapher Torres is an Ethnic Studies teacher at Stagg High School who specializes in Native American Indian Studies. In 2023, he created and piloted Native American Indian Studies (NAIS) for Stockton Unified School District (SUSD). As a member of the Ethnic Studies Steering Committee, he continues to develop curriculum for the Ethnic Studies program in SUSD, including for NAIS, and as a curriculum writer for the Native American Studies Model Curriculum (NASMC), he also writes curriculum for the state of California in partnership with the tribal nations of California.

As a teacher, he strives for his students to feel represented in their education, and works to provide them with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in their higher education and future careers.
