     Greeting Hazelton Families,

My name is Joshua Munoz and I'm the assistant principal at Hazelton Elementary. It's an honor to be here serving your community and working along side such a respected administor like Mr. Zamora. I began my journey in the Bay Area working for West Contra Costa Unified, Marin County Office of Ed, and San Francisco Unified. While working for these institutions, I realized that I had a passion for education and community outreach. I worked as a middle school and high school science teacher before I decided to go into administration. I knew early in my career that I had a desire to be an educational leader. To bring my goal of being an educational leader into fruition, I decided to grow as an educator by acquiring my Master's of Education in Best Practices. It served me well when I led my science department as a PLC Leader, Science Club Advisor, and a member of my school's curriculum steering committee.

I believe in being a lifelong learner and I truly believe there's always room to grow. I knew that I wanted to take the next step and go into administration. I use to admire my administrators and their commitment to our communities. To accomplish my goal of moving into administration, I decided to get my administrative credential and get a second Master's of Education with an emphasis in administration. This is now my second year as an administrator and I'm proud to say that I've successfully led a Native American Outreach Event, served my last district as the Title IX Coordinator, served the Latino community in DELAC meetings, and have organized enrichment programs to mitigate learning loss.

This year will be a great year! I plan on bringing all my strengths to this community and partnering with Mr. Zamora to accomplish great things in our community.

    Sincerely,

    Joshua Munoz, M.A.Ed., M.S.Ed
