    OUR SCHOOL

    Built in 1941, Edison High School has served the surrounding community for generations.  We are located in the California Central Valley in the south part of Stockton.  Our student population is approximately 2300 students and represents the diversity of our community.  The breakdown is as follows: 62% Hispanic, 11% Filipino, 12% African American, 5% Southeast Asian, with the remaining groups comprising less than 5% each. Over 90% of our student body qualifies for free/reduced lunch.

     

    SPECIAL PROGRAMS

    Edison High School is an AVID national demonstration school and we have received AVID certification for the last eight years.  Demonstration status is awarded to less than one percent of schools nationally.  Additionally we are the district STEM magnet with an emphasis in engineering. We are in the third year of implementing Project Lead The Way (PLTW) curriculumin engineering.

     

    ACADEMIC CALENDAR

      Edison is on a traditional schedule with the school year divided into two semesters of 30 units each.

    GPA and class rank are calculated using weighted grade points including grades 9-12

    COLLEGE ATTENDANCE

    Approximately 35% of Edison students attend a community college/CTE school after graduation and about 20% enroll at a four-year university. 

     

    Each year we offer between 6 and 8 community college courses and passing students receive college and high school credit.
