SAT and ACT Information

    What is the SAT?  The SAT is defined as the Scholastic Assessment Test, now called the SAT Reasoning Test, which is a test that measures the reading, writing and math levels of high school juniors and seniors. The purpose of the SAT is to measure a high school student's readiness for college and provide colleges with one common data point that can be used to compare all applicants.

    What is the ACT? The ACT is a standardized test to determine a high school graduate's preparation for college-level work. It covers four areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning. Like the SAT, the ACT measures a high school student's readiness for college.
