About the Teacher
-
Where did you go to school?
First, I went to French Camp Elementary (Mrs. DeSantiago, yes, Ms. Roberts/DeSantiago’s mom was my kindergarten teacher!) Next was East Union High School Mrs.Calderon and I were basketball teammates at EUHS!) , San Joaquin Delta College, and Marquette University.
Who have been your strongest influences in life?
My parents and grandparents were such hard workers. My grandparents still volunteered 2 full days at the Discovery Shop, a second hand store here in Stockton, that raises money for the American Cancer Society, until the pandemic hit. They were 88 and 89 and loved working and giving back to the community. Sadly, they have really declined mentally and physically because of the pandemic. I believe it has taken away their sense of purpose and reason to get up in the morning.
What are you most proud of accomplishing?
I am most proud of changing careers after 20 years, and my 3 children.
What would you do differently if you had a chance?
I think I would have started my adult life with a different career, something that had more potential for growth and travel opportunities.
Describe a scene of your vision for the future.
“Somewhere on a Beach”, 🎵🎶 the kind of life like the song by Dierks Bentley, with lots of visits from my kids and grandkids🥰. I also want to volunteer as a baby cuddler, for those babies who do not have a family member available to give them human contact. 👶🍼
