Hello Franklin Community,
It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of Franklin High School. I am excited and humbled to have the opportunity to lead a school with a dedicated community. I am fortunate to be part of this community and looking forward to serving the students and families at Franklin High School. I have been diligently working to complete our 2021-2022 SPSA, getting to know the logistics of the school and building relationships with the staff that has been present so far.
I have been dedicated to the field of education since 1999. My adventure began at Tracy Unified where I taught Mathematics, ELD (Mathematics), and AVID. In 2005, I earned my Administrative credential and began working at the San Joaquin County Office of Education, where I supported AVID regionally and other duties as assigned. When AVID lost state funding, I took a job directly with AVID Center and became the California State Director. I was tasked with meeting with Superintendents throughout the state to determine their needs, developing systems of support throughout the state, and serving a team across the state. In 2019, I have decided to go back to a district and serve students directly. I intentionally landed at SUSD at Edison High School as an Assistant Principal. I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader to Franklin High School and to work with and serve the Franklin Community.
On a personal note, I have three young adults living in my household. My 22-year-old nurse graduated this summer from Cal State East Bay with a BSBA. My 21-year-old has three classes to complete and will begin applying to nursing schools. Last, but not least, my 19-year-old son went the CTE route and has worked with his Dad to support him in expanding his business. I am proud of my children and look forward to creating opportunities for Franklin High School students so they have a path to be successful after high school with skills that will support their progress in the future. Franklin has a multitude of pathways to serve all students with access and support to the pathway of their choice by providing rich learning experiences for all students.
I view education as a life-long cycle of continuous improvement and expect that I will continue to learn much about the uniqueness of Franklin High School. Most importantly, I take a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my student-centered approach to serving our students together. Relationships are vital to the success of our students and I encourage you to become involved in every way possible. I look forward to meeting you!
Sincerely,
Anna Lotti
