Principal's Message

  •

    Dear Fillmore Parents and Students,

    Welcome Back Fillmore Lions!

On behalf of Fillmore Elementary, it is my honor to welcome our students and families to the 2020-2021 school year. We hope you had a safe and healthy summer break and enjoyed time with family. We also hope you are looking forward, along with us, to a new school year at Fillmore.

I am sure all of you are aware of our current COVID-19 situation. Due to the high infection rate of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in San Joaquin County, we are compelled to start the new school year online, just as we were during the Spring of the 2019-2020 school year. At the time of this writing, it is unclear when we will be able to open up all Stockton Unified schools for students to return in-person to their assigned classrooms and to meet their teachers.  Fillmore teachers and staff are aware of this and are committed to making the new school year online learning more robust.  During the Spring of 2020, Fillmore teachers learned how to provide online instruction. Our teachers will bring their virtual classroom instructional experiences with their prior students to a new level of learning with their new school year students.  Mr. Hernandez and I will be conducting daily "visits" in our teachers virtual classrooms so that all of us can continuously improve student learning.  We are committed to this goal.

Although Fillmore will remain closed for our students and parents for the meantime, we will continue to hold parent meetings. For now, all parent meetings will be online and we will provide meeting links for everyone to join in, which will be posted here on our school website. I invite all parents to join us online for our monthly English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) meetings, and the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meetings.  All meetings occur on the last Thursday of each month. Additionally, we will be allowed to hold IEP meetings online at this time. If this protocol changes, we will inform you. Our School Site Council (SSC) will continue to meet online and our meeting agendas are posted on the link here on the Principal's Page and from the "Fillmore Headlines" quick launch tile. There are many more activities planned for this school year, and we will keep you informed through our school website, phone message system, and on our electronic billboard.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me.

On behalf of our school staff, we pledge to provide your child with the very best educational experience here at Fillmore.

    Sincerely,

    Ms. Duangsawat, Principal
