Dear King School Students and Families,

Did you know that January 25th will mark the 100th day of school? Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!  Be sure to honor Dr. King, our school namesake.  You can honor him by helping your parent or sending a nice message to your teacher thanking him/her for their dedication or making class fun and interesting.

This year has been an unprecedented school year so far.  When we started school in August, we really thought that we would be able to bring our students back onto campus in early Fall, but here we are in January and still no kiddos.  We are coming up to the busiest time of the year, February-May.  Yes, state assessments will be happening!

Now that there is a vaccine being rolled out, we are anticipating bring back our students soon! Our K-6 might even be back on campus in February. The district has posted the Return to School plan which is accessible on the district homepage.  We are working on our return to school informational videos that will be posted to our school website and reviewed during class.  Our new “norm” comes with lots of new procedures and practices that will need to be implemented in order to keep all of our students and staff safe.

This school year has been a challenge for our teachers, students, parents, and school staff.  I am so impressed with our teachers who have rose to the challenge of teaching in a virtual world.  I am appreciative of our students and parents who have not let distance learning get in their way of learning and have shown up every day to learn.  To those of you who have not taken part, you are missing out and I ask that you try your very best to participate in class and connect with your teacher and classmates daily.

Let’s all work together and show the world what King School can do when they work together! I look forward to seeing you all soon in person, but for now I will see you in your virtual classes.  Stay healthy!

    Your Proud Principal,
    Mrs. Fabian
