Meet our Counselor:
Individual counseling is available to all students at the request of students, parents/guardians, and/or teachers. The goal of these meetings is to assist student in planning, monitoring, and managing their educational, personal/social, and career development goals. When continuous counseling is deemed appropriate, parental consent will be requested. There is a “counseling box” in the front office where students can submit requests to see the counselor.
Small-group counseling gives students the chance to acquire and practice life-skills related to a specific area of concern. Students have the opportunity to share and collaborate with their peers who are experiencing similar obstacles, as they realize they are not alone in their struggles. Groups will be based on the specific needs of the student population, as determined by administration, teachers, parents, and/or the students themselves. Groups will take place on a weekly basis for 6-8 weeks at a time, and parent permission will be garnered before the group is to take place.
College and Career Counseling
In conjunction with our fellow Stockton Unified School District schools, it is our mission to inspire college and career awareness, and guide students on their paths to becoming productive, positive, and contributing players in this world. I am committed to helping students explore their interests and strengths, inspiring and motivating them to seek out higher educational opportunities at the university level. In the counseling program, this is done primarily through discussions of personal, educational, and career goals, and life aspirations, accompanied by relevant planning to meet these goals. Additionally, all students receive academic guidance and planning in their advisory class that serves as a foundation to help them look ahead to the future.
The purpose of the classroom guidance program at Pulliam Elementary School is to reach a wider range of students and increase academic, college/career, and personal/social success among the student body. Classroom guidance lessons will be delivered on an as-needed basis dependent on the demands of the student population as a whole
I am available for consultation with parents and/or teachers to discuss obstacles that might be interfering with the child’s academic achievement. Together we can come up with strategies for resolving these struggles and achieving successful learning.

**While I provide a wide range of services for students, I am unable to provide intensive, long-term counseling services. If such services are needed, I will assist in the attainment of outside resources.
