John Adams' Principal

  • At John Adams, we work as a team of students, parents, staff, and community members to provide our students with the highest quality educational program possible. The best education for your child takes place in a secure, well-structured, safe environment.  Toward this end, we will maintain fair, consistent, well-balanced expectations for all children, enabling them to flourish.  In doing so, we hope to promote a better understanding and strengthen communication between the school and home. We need your help. Your child’s success in school requires the effort of every person involved in his/her life. We, along with YOU, and your child, can have a profound impact on your child’s educational experience if we all agree to work together to make his/her education a priority and provide support and encouragement along the way.

According to Building Successful Partnerships (2000), the most accurate predictor of academic achievement is not socioeconomic status, nor how prestigious the school is that a child attends. The best predictor of student success is the extent to which families encourage learning at home and involve themselves in their child’s education. When parents are engaged in their children’s school lives, students have the home support and knowledge they need to not only finish their assignments, but also develop a lifelong love of learning.

We invite and encourage your interest and participation through any of the following programs: Adams School Coffee Hour, School Site Council, English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC), classroom volunteer, and parent/teacher conferences. Parent volunteers are encouraged and welcomed.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact your child’s teacher or our office staff TB testing and Fingerprinting are required.

The School Site Council is a group of elected parents and staff members.  This group of parents, teachers and staff members is instrumental in making decisions that affect the school regarding instructional programs and budgets. This council assists in implementing the School Site Plan.  If you are interested in knowing more about the School Site Council, please contact the Principal.

English Language Parent Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a council of parents that meet to assist in the development of the school plan for English Learners, the school’s needs assessment and the administration of the language census.  If you are interested in knowing more about ELAC, please contact the Assistant Principal.
