Campus Visitor Procedures

All Visitors and/or Outsiders must report immediately to the Main Office to sign in and present the appropriate information, including but not limited to photo identification, to obtain a visitor’s pass.

All visitors are required to have a visitor’s pass to enter the school site, which must be worn on their person at all times and be visible during the visit.

First-time visitors Entering a School:

● Register at the VMS using a valid state photo identification such as a driver's license, Department of Motor Vehicles identification card, or REAL ID.

● Visitors with an alternate ID (i.e., passport), for the first-time registration, require office staff to manually register them in the VMS and print and issue a visitor’s pass.

● Visitors will have their faces photographed by the VMS camera. Any face coverings must be removed before taking the photograph. The photo will be automatically stored internally to print visitor passes on future visits. (If a visitor refuses to remove a covering for a religious reason take a picture of the Driver’s License or other proof of Identity)

● Follow the steps for check-in and check-out outlined below.

Visitor Check-In Procedures for Subsequent Visits:

● Check in by scanning their state-issued photo ID or by the staff manually searching for a previously registered visitor by name. If the staff member is manually searching for a previously registered visitor by name, the staff member will ask for the visitor’s state-issued ID to confirm identification.

● Specify the person and reason for the visit.

● Print out the visitor’s pass.

● Visually verify the person is correctly identified on the visitor’s pass.

● Visibly wear the visitor’s pass.

● All visitors are to identify who they are visiting, and the staff member is to be notified that the visitor is in the building and to be expected.

● Visitors must be escorted to and from their destination by a School-designated staff member (Exception: Employees of the School District and Approved Vendors and Volunteers.)

● First responders, such as law enforcement and health care professionals attending to a medical emergency are exempt from the check-in procedures.

All District visitors (including District employees and contractors) must always wear their approved ID badge while visiting a School site.
