Click here for information regarding Grief Support Services

Hello Everyone,

We are pleased to announce a new partnership with Community Hospice, Inc. to provide Grief Support Services to our SUSD students who have experienced a death loss of a loved one.  Community Hospice has received a small grant through St. Joseph’s Medical Center to provide individual and group grief support services led by experienced grief specialists and trained volunteers.  (Please see attached brochures).

This service will be on a first come, first served basis.  It is recommended that site CARE Teams review the attached information regarding the support service and consider appropriate student requests.

Please submit the this form:

Children's Grief Support Request Form

to Karina Castillo, Children’s Grief Support Program Manager, by email or fax (209) 541-3368.

Community Hospice will follow up on requests received and obtain all necessary parental consents for the service.

The following groups are available and will be offered virtually

·        HUG (Help Understanding Grief)-for children ages 6 to 9 years

·        TWEEN (Tween Working in Grief)-for children ages 10 to 12 years

·        TAG (Talk About Grief)-teens ages 13 to 17 years

During this time of COVID-19, our students are experiencing loss of loved ones at an alarming rate.  I am hopeful that this could be one more support opportunity to consider for our students.
