On July 24th at 8:00 a.m. at the Target store off Pacific in Stockton, 100 Madison families participated in a $100 dollar shopping spree for school clothes, shoes, and supplies.
Madison was approved for a $10,000 grant awarded to “motivated mustangs” who attended summer school, proficient on SBAC, and high need families. Parents met at Target at 7:00 a.m. and were allotted 2 hours to shop from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. on Thursday morning. Our parents were excited and eager to participate. On the first day of school, those participating families were the first to arrive at Madison school at 7:15 a.m. waiting in line with a smile, and greeting their teachers with appreciation! Student participants walked into school with confidence as they modeled their beautiful new backpacks, stylish jeans, and shoes. Madison is appreciative to Target for offering this resources to students and families. Starbucks provided free coffee as well!
