About Mr. Mercado
It was always a goal of mine to pursue a career in education to provide knowledge and opportunities to future generations
I began my journey at Stockton Unified School District from PreK- 8th Grade. Kohl Open School. It was because of the amazing teachers and Staff at Kohl that I knew I wanted to be an Educator.
For high school I attended Lodi Unified’s Middle College located on San Joaquin Delta College’s campus (where I earned 5 Associate of Art’s Degrees by my Junior year of high school).
Following, I then moved to Sacramento, California for 4 years where I attended California State University, Sacramento (to earn my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies: Public Relations).
After completion at my 4-year, I moved back home to Stockton and worked in Public Relations and Real Estate.
I found myself constantly involved with volunteering through Kiwanis and Key Club, both International Community Service Organizations whose initiatives focused on personal and professional leadership development and community services for youth (high school students).
I have been employed with Stockton Unified and have worked in the classrooms as a Preschool Assistant, 1st Grade Teacher, 5th-6th Grade Teacher and Substitute-taught for various grade levels from K-6th Grades.
I recently completed obtained my preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Education Specialist Credential in Mild/Moderate Special Education Settings.
I am currently pursuing my Educational Inquiry, Masters of Education Degree at Teachers College of San Joaquin (TCSJ), and expected to graduate mid-year of 2021.
I hope to continue to inspire students in the ways that my educators from all institutions had inspired me. I am a teacher among students, and a student among peers. Even as an Educator in the classroom, I still consider myself a student, always wanting to learn more. Even learning from students at any age. I continue to learn so I may take my experiences back into the classroom aid students to excel to new heights beyond themselves.
I am excited to get to know each and every one of you over the course of the year. I am sure we will all get better acquainted. Until then, I hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know me and let’s have a great rest of the year!
