  • Hello Young Adult Program families, prospective students, and friends, I wish to welcome you to our program. Transitioning into adulthood is a daunting task. It is a time of so much change in so many areas of life. And it’s even more difficult for young adults who may already be dealing with other challenges. No matter the challenge, the young adults receive the support they need to find joy and lead productive and meaningful lives.

Stockton Unified School District’s Young Adult Program supports our young adult learners (18-22 years old) with moderate to severe disabilities as they become responsibly independent adults that have meaningful connections, routines, and participation in our community. We believe that our students deserve access to and participation in their community and, as a Transition Program, our aim is to prepare students for the transition to adult living that they are enjoying now and will continue to enjoy after they turn 22 years old.

As a community-based program, we focus on functional academics or life skills while teaching in a variety of community settings. Some of the transition services that we offer include job or vocational training, post-secondary training, mobility or travel training, and independent living skills instruction. Our program is based on students’ transition goals and the students’ dreams for their future as adults.

Our program is located at three Stockton USD sites – 1541 E. March Lane (main campus), 1507 E. March Lane Suite A (annex), and 3700 Pacific Avenue (Central United Methodist Church), the Young Adult Program does not have a formal relationship with CUMC. To that end, all of our program and teachers have classrooms and workspace at their respective school sites while the main campus offers office assistance in records, referrals, and general information. If you are looking to contact our staff or would like to gain additional information about our programs, please call 933-7484 to gain access to the Young Adult Program staff. We are ready to answer any and all of your questions.

    Until the future!
