My name is Marco Rojas. Before I was a teacher, I was a professional racquetball player that competed for the US for over 10 years. I was born and raised in Stockton, Ca and attended Franklin High School. After high school, I attended Delta College and the University of the Pacific where I earned my degree in History. My goal for my students is to understand that history has shaped our society today, and how important it is not only learn from the past, but figure out how to make a better future. I am married to my best friend Brianna Rojas and we have a golden retriever.

    Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is fairly simple. I want to make the classroom an exciting, but engaging experience for my students. We embark on political and historical discussions as a class, or even debate particular issues. I believe on giving my students primary sources, and relevant articles and documents that connect to the topic of discussion. We analyze primary sources, and create our own arguments in class. Students can expect to be engaged in a learning environment that includes a mixture of:
    Classroom discussion
    Formal presentations
    Group Debates
