  • March 9, 2017 was a disappointing day for a Stockton Unified School District Teacher.  Rulers I have been purchasing since 2004 when I began using my teaching credentials that I first obtained in 1991 were destroyed.  My supply of 55 rulers is down to 28 this year (+2 returned).  I had to stop having rulers readily available as well as highlighters and glue sticks and sissors because so many were destroyed or gone missing.  I hope that the materials will benefit the learning of whom ever has them.  I am so hesitate to use anything of value - including the school computers because there is such a widespread culture of disregard.

    Administration 3.7.17 Announcement

Just a reminder that students should not be on cell phones in class unless directed to do so by their teacher and the TECH ON sign is showing.

At no time should a student have their ear buds in and listening to music. The only exceptions would be piano and World Language when students are listening to an audio lesson independently.

Admin needs all teachers to ensure compliance to our cell phone policy.

I am excited to teach math and biology using framework in the Three Science Course Model.  I have credentials in Life Science, Physical Science, and Introductory Math and also teach math evenings at the School for Adults.  If you know anyone needing a high school dipolma or GED that is the place to go.

I started off my education with a Bachelors of Science. in Microbiology from Indiana University and a Masters of Science in Biology from the University of the Pacific where I earned my teaching credentials.  Then after working as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist in response to working at McCormick and Baxter Creosoting Company,  I went back to school and earned a Masters of Science degree in Hydrologic Science in the Land, Air, and Water Resources Department at the University of California at Davis.  I am especially excited about using the new NGSSs and working with CDE and ETS reviewing assessments.  I hope to use some environmental science in my courses and and getting to do some research about our Calaveras River and who knew that in 1852 natural gas was found in Stockton when drilling a water well?? I am hoping that with the science and math courses that the Stockton Unified School District Curriculum Department will develop common summative assessments and resourses that all students in our District will experience.
