Welcome back to an exciting 4th Quarter,-an amazing period of Distance Learning. During the three weeks since we were together in the classroom/lab, you have grown in your capacity to learn new information through self-pacing course packets; and I have learned a variety of methods for teaching through the Internet. There were many learning platforms presented to me and it seemed as if everybody became an overnight sensation on developing software for Distance Learning.
After sampling many digital teaching platforms I have decided to continue using Google Classroom as my primarily platform for assigning coursework and for accepting assignments for grading. I will use Zoom Meeting to teach in large and small group settings, as well as to engage you in collaborative activities, such as "I Do, We Do, You Do" and presentations. We will use Gizmos to review and to learn science concepts and principals through hands-on simulations. Finally, we will use Flip grid from time to time for assessments.
The good news is that I will guide you through the different digital technologies. You should have received the class code for your Distance Learning Google Classroom in your student Gmail account. In addition, you will be able to join the Zoom Meeting by clicking on your course listed in the Distance Learning Schedule. For Science students, the Gizmos log-on information is attached to the first assignment in Google Classroom.
