About the Teacher

  • Julie Chavoya

Grew up in Fremont, Ca. and moved to the central valley in 2013 with my husband and four children shortly after earning my BA in Social Science all online through Ashford University.  I then continued and earned my MA. Ed, with Specialization in Curriculum & Instruction in 2015.  In the Fall of 2015, I began my teaching career here at Fremont Elementary.  I have had the privilege of returning to the Bay Area for Arts Integration training in Alameda, where I gladly make a point to see old friends.  My latest accomplishment was writing curriculum for and now teaching (with a small team) a 12 step faith-based chemical dependency program through my local church as a way to give back to my community.

When I am not writing lessons or teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, painting, doing arts and crafts, watching Historical fiction movies and television, cooking homemade recipes, and taking my blue nose pit, "Smokey" for an evening walk.
