COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Information

  • SUSD is committed to prioritizing the health and safety of our staff and students as we plan for the 2020-2021 school year. Over the summer, our District received guidance from the state and county on how to safely reopen our schools and began planning to offer in-person learning. However, due to the significant increase of COVID-19 cases in San Joaquin County in recent weeks, we do not believe that schools can safely and responsibly reopen this fall.

    Therefore, the 2020-2021 school year will begin in a 100% distance learning model. Instruction will resume on Monday, August 3, 2020, as previously scheduled.

    Enrollment

    The SUSD Centralized Enrollment Department is now open for registration by appointment only for grades TK-12. Please email enrollment@stocktonusd.net or call (209) 933-7028 ext 0 to schedule an appointment. Due to the limited number of appointments allocated per day, parents are highly encouraged to enroll online by clicking here: www.stocktonusd.net/enroll.

    Chromebooks

    The District will be checking out a Chromebook laptop to any student who is need of one to complete assigned schoolwork. Information on when and where to check out a Chromebook will be shared soon. Additional information on Chromebook Care and Technical Support can be found below.

    Internet Connectivity

    We want to ensure our students have access to internet during this critical time. If you do not have an internet connection at home to complete digital distance learning, there are a few options available to you. View them here at bit.ly/32lh9vY. The District will have a
    limited number of Hotspots available for students. Those who need a Hotspot should complete the Internet Request Survey; please complete one survey per family. Hotspots are extremely limited, so families are encouraged to also contact XFinity, Comcast, or ATT for their free and reduced-price internet deals; their information can be found in our Internet Resources document. Please note that you may need to provide the companies with this letter to prove Free- and Reduced-Price Lunch eligibility.

    Meal Service During Distance Learning


    During Distance Learning, the District will provide meals to all SUSD students. 


    Dear SUSD Families and Students,

    Beginning Monday, August 17th, an additional meal serving time will be available in the mornings from 6:45AM – 7:30AM at Chavez High School, Edison High School, Franklin High School, and Stagg High School.

    Meals will continue to be available for pick up at these 4 sites and 24 additional sites from 10:30AM – 12:30PM on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays. 

    Meals will be Provided for Enrolled Stockton USD Students ONLY

    Meals will only be available for enrolled Stockton USD students. Schools are no longer able to provide meals to other children in the household.

    Meal Service Postcard/Letter with Student Name and Barcode Required for Meal Pick Up

    In order to receive meals, parents/guardians must bring the meal service postcard/letter provided by the District. This postcard/letter includes the student’s name, ID number, and assigned barcode. Replacement meal service letters are available by contacting the Child Nutrition Department at 209-933-7015 ext. 2260.

    Meals can be picked up with the postcard/letter at any meal service location.

    The barcode on the postcard will be scanned at the meal service location. Each enrolled Stockton Unified student is eligible for one meal pickup per meal service day.

    Social Distancing During Meal Pick Up

    The meal pickup procedures include social distancing requirements for the safety of staff and families. 

    Families are asked to remain in their vehicles until staff are done placing meals for their family on the table. Staff will back up from the table to ensure that a 6-foot distance is maintained.

    Parents/guardians are asked to wear face coverings during curbside meal pick up. Staff are required to wear face coverings during meal preparation and pick up.
