Chavez High School has partnered with Raising Youth Resiliance, a local mentoring program. RYR addresses areas of crisis and conflict resolution involving a student’s health, peers, teachers, parents and guardians by focusing heavily on three critical challenges of suspension, truancy and academics. Through restorative practices, mentoring and intensive student and family support, RYR partners with the school, student and family to support students in meeting their personal and academic goals.
RYR services are coordinated through the Chavez High School Wellness Center, in partnership with adminstration and counseling staff. Students often self refer when they need assistance in conflict mediation or guidance in self advocacy or through administration/school counselors.
