    LO: Students will read authentic text, making connections with the explanatory text from yesterday to gain an understanding of disease during the Civil War.

    LANG: Students will orally analyze an image, read using structured pairs, and write a paragraph connecting explanatory and authentic text.

    Learning Objective: Students will understand the medical aspect of the Civil War, and how it affected the soldiers during battle

    1. Roll
    2. 4 groups will enter a student led discussion for 15 minutes.
    3. Other students will participate and write notes

    5. Take Notes/ Create 3 open ended questions and complete a summary (1 paragraph)

    Learning Objective: Students will understand the medical aspect of the Civil War, and how it affected the soldiers during battle

    1. Roll
    2. Freewrite: In 1 paragraph, elaborate what is going on with the patient?

    4. Arrange in 8 groups of 4
    5. Read and Create open ended questions for the student led discussion in class: Articles regarding Civil War and Medicine.
    6. HW: Work on student led discussion Thursday. Create open ended questions, and also engage the class on your article. Each group will lead discussion for 15 min- 20 min.
